  • stick it in a saucepan full of boiling water and place on the hob to boil until it is softish.
  • Steam it. It keeps more of its crispness and color, and doesn't get all soggy like it does when you boil it. Unless you are a pot-watcher and can get it off the stove before the sogginess sets in.
  • Since when do bears eat cabbage? I usually quarter it, core it, toss it in with a can of chicken broth (boiling) and a pinch of salt and two pinches of black pepper. Cook for about ten to fifteen minutes stirring every now and then until it's tender. Yummy!

  • how is it broken? seriously there are many ways to prepare cabbage. I personally like it shredded and made into coleslaw.
  • Growing up: - my parents would make their own sauerkraut, salt cured, not vinegar cured. - we'd have slices of cabbage heads in our salads - peeled cabbage stalk. Cut the part where the cabbage leaves are attached to the stalk off until you get to the inside of the stalk.
