  • Easter Service then Breakfast with all the coloured eggs and then the Chocolate eggs. We always had to have all new clothes for Easter mass.
  • Hunting for eggs at the house of one of my aunt's.
  • Getting a Wiffle bat & ball in my Easter basket.I remember it was a warm day, so after Church I was allowed to go out and play.
  • Seeing all the lovely bluebells in the woods when we were egg hunting x
  • Hunting for eggs in Aunt Sally's pasture with all my cousins. I looked over a big fallen log and there was a baby calf that had been born not to long before that. I was so excited and was running to tell my brother. I saw this funny look on his face and looked behind me and it was the mama cow coming after me. My eggs started flying out of my basket and I was laughing so hard that I almost didn't make it over the rail fence before she got me.
  • I was about 6 years old. We were all on grandma's front porch cause it was pouring down rain. Uncle Jim was telling all us kids some scary story about Easter (in the middle of the afternoon). All I remember was the end where he said, "And he looked just like this!" and my dad came running onto the porch with a scary old-man Halloween mask. My 5 year old cousin, Michael, ran off the porch into the rain screaming and crying. This was about 15 years ago, we still laugh about it.
  • My favorite Easter memory was 1970, hunting eggs in our yard, with Uncle Dean who came out to visit from Minnesota. I was desperately searching for eggs, vaguely aware of the yelling coming from my brother & sister, until my Dad yelled out, "Blondie, don't move a muscle, not a muscle, not a muscle". I saw my Dad coming at me with a shovel, and my Uncle coming at me with a hoe, & they are both looking at my feet. I look down to see what has them so excited, and a rattlesnake was climbing up my leg. I was as still as possible, but when it reached my knee, and begin moving off my knee sock & onto my skin...it was all over. I screamed & jumped & kicked my legs out & hopped around like a total spazz! The snake fell to the ground, and my Uncle chopped it's head off. He later skinned it & wrapped it around his cowboy hat, but he gave me the rattle. It was a pretty young snake, and only had about 4 or 5 rattles on it, but we talked about that for years! Now I just can't believe that I didn't feel the damn thing sooner! Thank God I had on white dress shoes & socks & others were more observant than I.
  • Getting an actual rabbit for Easter.
  • When my dad thought the easter bunny was an intruder and pepper sprayed him.... lol!! JK! *wink*
  • Finding the golden egg. Every year mom would hide one gold egg. The child who found it got to choose a movie to go see the next Saturady. I only found it once, my choice was to see Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I was seven years old.
