It really matters what you think the best fielder in the game is. You can argue that Johan Santana is a better player or more dominate but he starts every 5 days whereas A-Rod will be playing everyday at a tough position in a tough city. The media will be hard on him when he makes mistakes but he will overcome the adversity and play well this year.

I absolutely hate Alex Rodriguez and the Yankees, so they can pay as much as they want for him, it just means that they have less money to buy better players. A-Rod was good when he first started, but now he is just getting old, and i mean he has his days, but he is definitely not worth what the Yankees are paying him.

Not right now. If he leads them to a World Series title and if he remains with the Yankees all of his career and can hit over 700 home runs, the Yankees will think he was worth the investment.

In some ways yes, but some ways no. A-Rod does a terrific job in the regular season but in post season he's pretty bad. It's a shame the money they pay him he doesn't get a home run every time and he never makes any errors at third base, but that's just baseball. Everyone strikes out and everyone makes errors that's just part of the game.
