Usually I find that misfortune results from obstacles to a person's ability to take advantage of opportunites. In that vein I teach adult literacy. I do not believe in charity per se as it does nothing to change the cirsumstances - it's just a bandaid.

I personally have pondered this allso. About 8 years back I realized my church was filling a big pot fund for a new church building. I decided to give to individuals instead. during that time I was really searching this out. After reading the book of Acts I decided 2 things. The early church had all they needed because each gave all they had (except a married couple lied and they droped dead in church) and no where in the new testiment is 10% mensioned, rather giving all. I do not say this is all possible in that order. However I can give with out rules or the law. We live in liberty of christ now not the law. Thank you for asking

This is American mentality. selfishness will kill us. So goes the government. If the present economics continue, I predict rioting in the streets within 1 year. major rioting soon. Major attacks from other nations. Take your pick. revolution or depression. I appreciate the chance to belier. Thanx +
