This is an interesting question. I would suppose the 'disrespect' for life had something to do with it. I have attempted suicide and wound up in an institution for a while as a result. A friend was responsbile for keeping me alive, well, former friend...lol, not really, I was hospitalized and interviewed by cops, blah, blah, blah... I have opinions about suicide. Execution for a failed attempt seems odd though.
