  • To answer your question - Peyton Manning is not overrated but Eli Manning is underrated. First to address Peyton - having a quarterback like him on your team just makes everyone else better. Look at the guys that have left Indy - like Stokely. He did not do a thing for Denver in 07. He has proved that he can win any game at any time. How many years now has Indy won 10+ games? At least 7 or 8. No team (not even New England) has done that. As far as Eli Manning being considered underrated - I can definetly believe that. The New York media can be very harsh on the Giants (its funny they tend to leave the Jets alone, unless they are playing well). Eli does not have a lot of help in New York either. His WRs drop a lot of passes and that leads to frustration which can lead to mistakes. With the exception of the very recent past events (Playoff and Super Bowl wins), the Giants team has played very sparadically. Offense, defense, special teams - all are guilty of very sparadic play. Always the question of the week during the season - Who is going to QB the Giants this week - Bad Eli or Good Eli? It takes a lot to be a successful QB in the NFL and the pieces that make up the Giants offense seem to only mesh on occassion. If the New York media would not highlight 'Bad Eli' so much, I don't think he would have such a large negative shadow over him as compared to his brother.
