I have a 1998 monte carlo with factory cd radio. I was thinking of having the cd player fixed. Does this cd player play mp3 format?

I would doubt it, the standard is too new. What most rodders do is keep the orignal stereo and put a modern one in the trunk or glove box.. you may be able to hook a cd changer to it, and find a CD changer that will play the format
