I'm looking for an FPS/RPG/adventure PC game similar to Oblivion and Assassin's Creed...one that uses blade-combat--any suggestions?

See if you can find Blade of Darkness. It was a lot of fun. It's a sort of hybrid RPG-Adventure-fighting game. I don't recall off the top of my head who published it. There was also a FPS called Rune that used the Unreal Engine. I didn't play it much, but a friend of mine really liked it.
