  • i believe the higher the gear, the slower you accelerate the higher the gear, the easeier it is just to maintain that speed or something not really sure though, i only learnt this from playing gran turismo :)
  • Don't listen to a game-trained mechanic like the previous answer. If you are taking your engine past 7 grand then you are nearing the red line unless your audi has a very high revving engine. Is this occuring on a hill or on flat ground? Are there any warning lights on? What make and model is your vehicle? (Including the year) What happens such that the engine will not go past 3000rpm in 3rd or 4th? Does it simply stop revving up? Does it feel held back? Is there a sound coming from the engine? I've never heard of this problem before but it sounds to me like it could be an ECU problem which would need to be fixed by a diagnostics technician, most likely at your dealer. Hope this helps, Good Luck
  • my car is a 1998 Lancer GSR, 1.8 DOHC tiptronic. the engine is 4g93t. this problem come if i release my throttle when i upshift my gear using tiptronic. my mechanic told me i should not release my pedal even changing gear. but i realise if i am in 3rd gear and i tried to overtake someone, the turbo spool slow and its sucks. my car only perform if it is in stationary position from gear 1, i just redline every gear and that when it perform. =) pls advise on method to use a tiptronic well. first time user here.
