  • No he doesn't know about it
  • Gas in a town in California was reported at $5.19 on the news yesterday. You thought you had it bad.
  • Bush is an idiot. It's all his fault. Edit In: If Bush had employed better diplomatic relationships with OPEC countries, he might have been able to negotiate the oil situation better than he has, which is laughable at best.
  • No, he has nothing to do with it. Chalk it up to supply/demand, and OPEC.
  • No. It's everybody driving around gas-guzzling SUV's trying to keep up their status symbol lives with their neighbors. If we all drove sensible vehicles we wouldn't have this problem. And I'm not talking about hybrids. My Nissan gets about 40 mpg, about 3 times the average SUV.
  • No. It is because OPEc won't increase production, China is guzzling gas at twice our rate and Russia can't get their own oil out of the Baltic.
  • No, probably not, but what the hell? Let's blame him anyway!!
  • No... And don't expect it to EVER be as low as it was a few years ago. We've proven to the oil companies that we're willing to PAY THROUGH THE NOSE for being able to drive wherever/whenever we want, and they will NEVER lower it below... I'd guess $2.50... even if cost and production are enough to do so.
  • it was $3.09 the last time I looked..Damn right it's his fault.
  • Yes, as executive he is responsible for every regulatory agency within the federal government. They do not regulate any industries especially the oil industry. They never heard of the term before! They continue to permit a free hand when it comes to business as usual! He's totally failed to exercise his responsibilities by enforcing the current rules and regulations and law of the land! His primary job is to enforce the LAW,and he has yet to do that!
  • Of course. Isn't EVERYTHING Bush's fault?
  • im paying £1.18 A LITRE BUT THATS MY FAULT.
  • Mainly it is supply and demand. Some small blame can go to the government for allowing so much free trade with China. We need to tax imports to the maximum so that jobs won't be exported and China grows rich and uses more gas while we lose jobs and pay thru the nose for gasoline.
  • No! Blame the communists!
  • With his history in the OIl industry, I would say its exactly what he wanted.
  • It's a combination of corrupt politics, oil businesses, businesses who rely on oil like cars and plastic bag making. Gverments not investing enough in public transport etc
  • No, but he is responsible for your dog having worms
  • Our govt is to blame indirectly for not having high tariffs on cheap goods from China. They have almost free labor and can pollute as much as they want, whereas US companies have high restrictions on pollution. We've given them enough money that now they are buying cars and our gas prices go up because of supply and demand.
  • Actually he really was hoping it would be over 6 dollars a gallon before the Memorial holiday weekend but you know george,he can't do anything right!
  • Of course not. DUH!
  • It's not just his fault it's Halliburton's, Exxon's and all of the other snakes manipulating the oil prices to earn windfall profits.
  • Where's your neighborhood? Gas here is $4.46 a gallon. Sounds cheap to me. Should be $7+ by end of summer, $8+ by end of year. I don't believe it will level out until it is between $12 and $15 a gallon. Call me crazy if you wish and I really hope I am wrong. But I tend to usually be right.
  • I just paid $4.77/gal. for diesel today. I would love to be able to blame this singularly on Bush, but I'm afraid it's a bit more convoluted than that. Hedge fund speculators, state taxes, increased world demand and the devaluation of the dollar all play a part from the info I have.
  • Absolutely 100%
  • it is partly Bush's fault but mainly it's the Zionist jews fault .because they are the ones who really run the USA.it's a scam to get money out of the people in the USA and Canada to help pay for the war in Iraq.OPEC and APEC have really not much to do with the high fuel prices but they will play along with Bush and his bum buddies
  • Partly Bush's fault but not Zionist. To the one saying it is Zionist name any of the top 100 US Industries run by a Jew. Nothing. They tend to be exclusively Christians. Even a couple Asians. Hitler did the same blaming Jews for Germany losing WWII. The Rothschilds had their bank in Holland were Jews. Germany seized that country and controlled the banking. Other banks were Christian run. Want to blame banks fine, but Jews hat next to nothing to do with it. It's not OPEC either. Hate to tell you but if you look in a mirror you will see one responsible. The consumers of fuel and drivers of cars. About 3 or so billion people competing for a limited resource. You have no idea how much I would like to dump the complete blame on Bush and Cheney. But just isn't so. With the Gulf War they certainly contributed to it though.
  • This is the beauty of a "free-market" economy. The shareholders of the major oil companies get to make a fantastic amount of money, and, since we live in a capatalist society, no one can prevent us from bettering ourselves so that we can earn the money we need for our daily expenses, and the money we want for our enjoyment. Jealousy is an ugly emotion, and "wealth-envy" is fruitless. Positive personal action is much more constructive. My suggestion to the masses is: Stop whining, and create your own oppurtunities for wealth, or stop driving unless absolutely imperative. I do not know where this idea that we are entitled to cheap gas comes from. P.S. Millions of gallons of fuel are wasted in the drive-thru lines of Pharmacies, coffee shops, restaraunts, banks etc. It makes far more sense to shut down the engine, walk into the establishment, do your business and be on your way.
  • Just so you know- gas in Europe is around $10/gallon
  • No there yet. Bush lifetime goal will be to have gas @ $6+ gallon. Of course, he wants it before leaving the White House. My 2 cents.
  • Obviously not. I think it's our fault because we consumed too much gas in the past. There were the time with gas guzzling V8's and V10's so I guess it's just the price we have to pay for.
  • No. High gas prices are actually a -gift- from Bush & his oil/energy cartels friends to us. My 2 cents.
  • No may not be directly, but he cannot escape the responsibility of not using his powers to bring down the price of gas.
  • Ha no certainly not , I'm from the UK and gasoline/petrol is more expensive here although this is partly because of the high tax on petrol in the UK but it also shows that all western countries are suffering due to the rises in the cost of oil. However its also because of the incredible power, money and influence that oil producing countries and businesses have. A friend of mine has a cousin who works for NASA and he is an engineer who develpoed a completely self propelled non polluting engine and was told by his "superiors" to scrap the plans and never consider them again as basically he wouldn't live for too long if he did.
  • Nope. The president doesn't control the price of gasoline. The market does. Now, I live in IL. and our gas is higher then the national average. Taxes get us.
