How To Get The Different Endings
This will explain to you how to get the different endings. Their is 4 different endings for each kingdom. I will now tell you how to get them:

    SHU SCENARIO

    Ending 1:

    Average KO count under 200.
Average clear time over 20 minutes.

    Ending 2:

Clear a total of 15 stages or more.
    Average KO count over 200.
Average clear time over 20 minutes.

    Ending 3:

Average clear time under 20 minutes.

    Ending 4 :

Clear a total of 15 stages or more.
    Average KO count over 200.
Average clear time under 20 minutes.
Average Rank Points received over 4000.
At Campaign for Cheng Du, have Liu Zhang surrender.

This is how you get Liu Zhang to surrender:

    Campaign for Cheng Du

Condition: Get Liu Zhang to surrender

The trick for getting Zhang Liu to surrender is
    (A) You must capture Li Yan
    (B) Do not approach Liu Xun until all the other generals are dealt
    with, and
    (C) When the enemy reinforcements arrive do not defeat Ma Chao/Pang De
until all the other generals are defeated.

(Note that part B is important; as if your own allies reach Liu Xun
prematurely enemy reinforcements will appear and spoil everything.)

    1) When the battle starts do not engage Li Yan until Zhuge Liang tells
you that the ambush area is set up.

    2) Go to Li Yan and get him to chase you. He will immediately challenge
you to a duel, but if you want to get Zhang Liu to surrender you must
    decline (press start).

    3) Lure Li Yan to the ambush site. When Guan Ping appears turn around
and defeats him. You should get the message that Li Yan was captured.

    4) Next comes the tricky part. You will need to go into the forest area
and eliminate all of Liu Xun's sub generals. There should be four in
    all

    5) Head north from the ambush site and move through the forest in a
reverse Z pattern. You'll know you're on the right track when Yan Yan
is the fourth general you encounter.

    6) DO NOT GO near Liu Xun or you will trigger reinforcements, which
will cause the castle gates to open and Liu Zhang to show up.

    7) If he ever shows up he will never surrender so keep that in mind.
When all of Liu Xun's sub generals are defeated go back the way you
came to Liu Bei's position, then head south to engage Liu Han and Deng
    Xian's sub generals.

    8) You should encounter Deng Xian along the way. Go ahead and defeat
him. When they've been dealt with go and take Liu Han out. Defeat the
gate captains guarding the nearby gates to open them so you have a way
    to move back and forth.

    9) Once all of the officers, save Liu Xun, are defeated you should get
a message saying that Liu Zhang is considering surrender. If you don't
get the message chances are you did something wrong and will have to
start over. If you do get the message you may want to save your game
    just in case.

    10) Make your way to Liu Xun to fight him. Moving towards his position
will trigger enemy reinforcements (Ma Chao, or Pang De if you
previously unlocked Ma Chao, along with Ma Dai, Yang Huai, and Gao Pei
    back at Liu Bei's castle).

    11) DO NOT DEFEAT MA CHAO/PANG DE UNTIL ALL OTHER GENERALS ARE
    DEFEATED.

    12) If Ma Chao/Pang De challenges you to a duel ignore him. Head back
to Liu Bei and take out Yang Huai near the south entrance of the castle
and Ma Dai near the east entrance.

    13) If Gao Pei defeated the south stronghold captain (which he should)
he should be arriving shortly by the south gate. Once all of the other
generals are taken care of, go ahead and defeat Ma Chao/Pang De.

    14) If you did everything I mentioned you should get a message saying
that Liu Zhang will surrender. As long as Liu Zhang does not appear in
any point of the battle things should be okay.

I used this method and one thing I should note that try not to kill the troops in the forest.
Or seal any gates because doing so will clear the path for your allies
to charge at Liu Xun (which is something you do not want). If they
approach Liu Xun too early before you done fully everything, it will
trigger the reinforcements and Liu Zhang will never surrender!

    WEI SCENARIO

    Ending 1:

    Average KO count under 200.
Average clear time over 20 minutes.

    Ending 2:

Clear a total of 15 stages or more.
    Average KO count over 200.
Average clear time over 20 minutes.

    Ending 3:

Average clear time under 20 minutes.

    Ending 4:

Clear a total of 15 stages or more.
    Average KO count over 200.
Average clear time under 20 minutes.
Average Rank Points received over 4000.
At Battle of Chi Bi, prevent ship chain connection, prevent wind prayer, prevent fire attack.

This is how you get ending #4:

    Battle of Chi Bi

    Condition: Disrupt all 3 plots

(Note: Red Hare Saddle is recommended here)

    1) First head over Pang Tong (His position will be indicated in the history and
he is also a sub-general under Cao Pi), after that he will say "Hm...didn't
work, eh?" He will defect and turn into a sub-general under Zhuge Liang. But
the requirement doesn't require you to defeat him. So either kill him or don't,
it doesn't matter. All that matters is to uncover his plot

    2) Head over to Zhuge Liang position and defeat him, this will disrupt the wind
summoning prayer and by now you are 2/3 of fulfilling the requirements.

    3) Now head over to Huang Gai's position, you should get a message "The Wu
general, Huang Gai, wishes to surrender" and his "future" position will be
shown. Either head over there (be prepared for waiting) or defeat any enemy
generals around (to kill time) But once the message "Huang Gai's ship will
appear soon" shows, haul yourself over there as quickly as possible and defeat
    him.

    WU SCENARIO

At Race for Nan Territory, take over all three forts.

This is how you take all three forts:

    Race for the Nan Territory

    Condition: Take all 3 territories

(Note: Red Hare Saddle (again) is also recommended here)

(Also Note: Shu Officers are here, do not let them defeat the following
officers or else they will claim the defeated officer's province causing you to
    fail the requirement)

    1) You have 3 territories to take. Xiang Yang, Jing Province and Nan Territory
    Here is a small sheet

    +---------------+-------------+----------------------+
    | PROVINCE | LEADER | POSITION |
    |---------------|-------------|----------------------|
    | Xiang Yang | Xiahou Dun | Left Side |
    | | | |
    | Jing Province | Zhang Liao | Bottom Left Corner |
    | | | |
    | Nan Territory | Cao Ren | Middle |
    +---------------+-------------+----------------------+

    2) The leaders mean that you have to defeat those respective people to claim
each territory. Here is how I did it on hard difficulty:

    -> Defeat Xiahou Dun first
-> Then head over to Zhang Liao and defeat him
-> Lastly defeat Cao Ren to claim all three provinces.

    LU BU SCENARIO

    Ending 1:

    Average KO count under 200.
Average clear time over 20 minutes.

    Ending 2:

Clear a total of 6 stages or more.
    Average KO count over 200.
Average clear time over 20 minutes.

    Ending 3:

Average clear time under 20 minutes.

    Ending 4:

Clear a total of 6 stages or more.
    Average KO count over 200.
Average clear time under 20 minutes.
Average Rank Points received over 4000.
At Lu Bu's Revolt, defeat all enemy generals.

At Lu Bu's Revolt, this is how you defeat all enemy generals:

    Lu Bu's Revolt

    Condition: Defeat all enemies

    1) Defeat all soldiers, reinforcements, gate captains and ambushes. (You just
need to clear the map you don't need to lay the final blow on each and everyone
    of them)

    2) DEFEAT ALL GENERALS AND SUB-GENERALS YOURSELF, YOU NEED TO LAY THE LAST AND
KILLING BLOW ON EACH OFFICER. FAILURE TO DO SO RESULTS IN FAILURE TO FULFILL
    THE REQUIREMENT!

Here is an Officer Kill Sheet (not in any particular order):

    +--------------------------+----------------------+
    | GENERALS | Sub-Generals |
    |--------------------------+----------------------|
    | Dong Zhuo | Fan Chou, Hua Xiong |
    | Li Jue | |
    | Xu Rong | |
    | Hu Zhen | |
    | Niou Fu | |
    | Gou Si | |
    | Wang Fang | |
    | Li Ru | Li Meng |
    | Dong Min | |
    | Zhao Cen (Reinforcements)| |
    ---------------------------+-----------------------

    DONG ZHUO SCENARIO

    Ending 1:

    Average KO count under 200.
Average clear time over 20 minutes.

    Ending 2:

    Clear all 6 stages.
    Average KO count over 200.
Average clear time over 20 minutes.

    Ending 3:

Average clear time under 20 minutes.

    Ending 4:

    Clear all 6 stages.
    Average KO count over 200.
Average clear time under 20 minutes.
Average Rank Points received over 4000.
At Battle of Si Shui Gate, after Li Jue announces retreat, defeat Liu Bei Cao Cao, and Sun Jian.

This is how after Li Jue announces retreat, you defeat Lui Bei, Cao Cao, and Sun Jian and how to do this:

    Battle of Si Shui Gate

Condition: Defeat Cao Cao, Liu Bei and Sun Jian, after Li Jue begins to retreat

I suggest a buffed up character and red hare saddle here. Although you may try
without them, it's difficult due to time constraints.

(Note1: Li Jue only retreats after Hua Xiong is defeated, you NEED to trigger
the retreating sequence before you defeat Cao Cao, Liu Bei and Sun Jian)

(Note2: Defeating other generals is fine)

It goes about like this on normal difficultly

    1) Do not defeat Sun Jian's messager. This is to increase Sun Jian's morale
once the messager does its job. Do not defeat Huang Gai either; defeating him
brings him down one point of morale.

    2) The reason for this is that Sun Jian engages Hua Xiong early, and with Sun
Jian 7 star morale clashing with Hua Xiong's 5 star morale. Hua Xiong will
    eventually lose.

    3) While waiting for Hua Xiong to be defeated, defeat generals in this order.
ZHANG HE, YUAN SHU, GONGSUN ZAN.

    4) Then head over to the supply depot and transverse down the back road. And
jump on the small wall and stay up there. Either you go down and defeat Guan Yu
or wait for Hua Xiong to be defeated (your call)

    5) When Hua Xiong is defeated, Li Jue will sound the retreat. Quickly defeat
Liu Bei. Jump over the wall again and mount red hare and proceed quickly to
    defeat Cao Cao.

    6) After Cao Cao's defeat, head over to Si Shui gate and defeat Sun Jian.

    7) Yuan Shao at this time should be near the small wall of the back road to the
supply depot, proceed there and defeat him.

    YUAN SHAO SCENARIO

At Battle of Guan Du, defeat Guan Yu.

At the Battle of Guan Du, this is how you defeat Guan Yu and how to do it:

    Battle of Guan Du

    Condition: Defeat Guan Yu

A condition as straightforward as they come, but defeating Guan Yu is not an
easy task if your character is still relatively untrained. I suggest playing
this stage with a maxed out character, since Guan Yu is a "demon" here.

Guan Yu defeats general in this order. Go into his path of destruction as soon
as possible and he will pursue you instead.

    1. Yan Liang (Defeated in 32-58 seconds)
    2. Wen Chou (Defeated in 2 minute 15 seconds)
    3. Yuan Shang (Defeated in 2 minute 55 seconds)
    4. Gao Lan (N/A)

The fastest way (with a mount) is to:

    1) Defeat Xun You (sub-general of Yu Jin) who is guarding the west gate of Bai
Ma. It should open up, charge inside.

    2) Go to the south gate of Bai Ma (it should be open), Guan Yu will be there
shortly after he defeats Yan Liang.

(Note: After Guan Yu defeats Yuan Shang, Yuan Shao will say something like
"Stop him, Stop Guan Yu" Liu Bei will in turn remark "Guan Yu is here?" and
will begin to move to Guan Yu's position, if both of them meet, they will
retreat. And if you don't kill Guan Yu by then, you have failed to fulfill the
    requirement)

    NAN MAN SCENARIO

    Ending 1:

    Average KO count under 200.
Average clear time over 20 minutes.

    Ending 2:

    Average KO count over 200.
Average clear time over 20 minutes.

    Ending 3:

Average clear time under 20 minutes.

    Ending 4:

    Average KO count over 200.
Average clear time under 20 minutes.
Average Rank Points received over 4000.
At Battle of Cheng Du, clear the stage with Wu Tu Gu alive.

This is a FAQ/Walkthrough of how to clear the Cheng Du stage with Wu Tu Gu alive:

    Battle of Cheng Du

Condition: Wu Tugu must survive till the end.

(Note: My first play through of the Nanman, I played on normal and started out
with a relatively unbuffed character Meng Huo, didn't know about the Wu Tugu
survival requirements and my weapon was only level 8 after I finished the whole
Nanman musou mode and I immediately got my FOURTH ENDING!!)

I played through Nanman mode again (on hard with maxed out Zhu Rong) and here
is what I have deemed important.

Either play on Easy or Normal (play on hard if you want but max out your
character stats first) and red hare saddle is recommended.

This mission is a headache, not difficult, but a headache since your generals
start out on such low morale compared to the Shu generals. (Ma Su=5*, Zhang
Bao=8*, Zhao Yun=8*) You have to be all over the place to help your generals in
order to prevent them from dieing

This is how to do it with the two Naanman characters, Meng Huo and Zhu Rong:

    Zhu Rong Walk-thru
    -------------------

    1) If you're playing as Zhu Rong you'll start out south of Jian Yan Bridge,
head over there and you'll trigger Zhang Bao's arrival. Defeat him quickly (he
has 8 star morale leaving him un-checked should prove disastrous)

    2) You would get a message about Zhu Bao being trapped. Go straight and head
for Ma Dai. Ignore Zhao Yun for now. DEFEAT MA DAI QUICKLY!

    3) The reason for this you have less than one minute and your troops will
trigger the Shu arbalest attack, which in turn will trigger Meng Huo to order
    Wu Tugu to attack.

The second reason to defeat MA DAI is to prevent him to successfully rescue Fu
Shui Gate. This shortly causes Zhu Bao to open the gates to his stronghold,
which he will charge out and cause further headaches.

Third reason since game physics determine the outcome of off screen battles by
morale, troops and strategy which Ahui Nan loses in these categories he would
be shortly killed after Ma Dai's rescue of Fi Shui Gate.

    4) QUICKLY ride to Wu Tugu's current position. By now, Ma Su would have
triggered an ambush at Wu Tugu's position. Be quick and defeat Guan Suo (sub-
general of Ma Su) who is guarding Luo Castle's East Gate. This will cause the
gate to open. Storm inside and dispatch of Ma Su quickly.

    5) After this you can either defeat Zhao Yun or defeat Zhu Bao's two sub-
generals to get him to defeat to your side.

    6) Watch out for Wang Ping and Yue Ying (both 8 star morale)

    7) Lastly, there is really nothing more to say. Mop up the remaining generals,
so just quickly defeat Liu Bei

Conclusion: You can quickly do steps 1 and 4 if you are worried abt keeping Wu
    Tugu alive.

    Meng Huo Walk-thru
    -------------------

    1) Meng Huo starts out East of Luo castle. Go ahead and defeat Ma Dai, try to
avoid his sub-general, he just serves as a minor annoyance.

    2) Defeating him will prevent Zhu Bao from rushing out. Then shortly after the
Shu arbalest attack, go to Wu Tugu's position and take out Guan Suo.

    3) Take out Ma Su (which also causes his troops morale to troop to zero so Wu
Tugu will have an easier time overall)

    4) Next just head below and defeat Zhao Yun, Zhang Bao.

    5) Then Defeat Zhu Bao's two sub-generals to get him to defect.

    6) Watch out for Wang Ping and Yue Ying (both 8 star morale)

    7) From here on from systematically defeat any general or just defeat Liu Bei
    quickly

    YELLOW TURBAN SCENARIO

At Yellow Turban Rebellion, clear the stage with all ally generals alive.

This is how to get ending #4's last requirement:

    The Yellow Turban Rebellion

Condition: All Yellow Turban generals must survive

I really have no strategy here, play on easy and defeat any generals that
appear. Try not have any of your allied generals sandwiched between two of the
enemy generals otherwise he is in danger of being killed. So watch out for
    that.

Also dueling sub-generals and winning will mostly bring army's morale down by
one star. But keep in mind, to save and quit, as your items are un-equipped
    after a duel.

Their appearance seems to be random. Generals with a star* only appear after
the general above them are defeated. Here is a sheet

    +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
    | OFFICERS | SUB-GENERALS| MORALE | POSITION |
    |------------ |-------------|--------|----------------------------------------|
    | Gongsun Zan | Zhao Yun | 5* |Top Right Of bottom fort |
    |------------ |-------------|--------|----------------------------------------|
    | Huangfu Song| N/A | 4* |Top Left of bottom fort |
    |-------------|-------------|--------|----------------------------------------|
    | Zhu Jun | N/A | 5* |Top Middle of bottom fort |
    |-------------|-------------|--------|----------------------------------------|
    | Sun Jian | Huang Gai | 5* |Appears Top of Huangfu Song (Left) |
    |-------------|-------------|--------|----------------------------------------|
    | Liu Bei | Guan Yu | 6* |Appears Top of Zhu Jun (Middle) |
    |-------------|-------------|--------|----------------------------------------|
    | Yuan Shao | Yan Liang | 4* |Appears in the # area |
    | | Wen Chou | | |
    |-------------|-------------|--------|----------------------------------------|
    | Cao Cao | Xiahou Dun | 5* |Appears Top of Gongsun Zan (Right) |
    | | Xiahou Yuan | |near entrance of the # area |
    |-------------|-------------|--------|----------------------------------------|
    | He Jin | N/A | 5* |In the bottom fort |
    |-------------|-------------|--------|----------------------------------------|
    | Dong Zhuo* | Hua Xiong | 7* |Appears in YT main fort, near Zhang |
    | | | |Liang |
    |-------------|-------------|--------|----------------------------------------|
    | Lu Bu* | N/A | 7* |Appears Near entrance of YT main fort |
    +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------+

P.S. For ending #1 & 2, it must be on normal if you don't have the tiger amulet equipped; must be on hard difficulty setting if you have the tiger amulet equipped.

    (From Brian Nii's Dynasty Warriors 4 FAQ/Walkthrough, bnii@hawaii.edu)

Each Musou Mode in the game has four possible endings depending on your performance. After the history of your campaign plays, a short poem will be displayed, which will determine which ending you receive.
