This probably isn't answering your question, but don't you all have access to hospitals? In the UK you just walk into any hospital and you get treated, including drugs and medicine for free, on the NHS. Why don't you have some sort of health insurance policy? It must be horrible to be injured and not have access to medical care. You need to get the finger x-rayed to make sure the break isn't too sinister. If it's a clean break, a doctor would probably just put a splint on it and bandage it heavily to protect it. You could do this yourself I guess with equiptment from your local pharmacy. It shouldn't be too expensive. However, it may not be a clean break, in which case it might not heal properly, and might be painful for many years to come. There's also a danger that broken bones can interfere with the blood supply to the finger, sometimes cutting the supply off, in which case this would be classed as a medical emergency and you really would need to get a doctor to sort it out. Anyway, you must have had it x-rayed, or how would you know it's broken, and how are you managing to type?

Get two popsicle sticks and some tape. you are going to splint your finger. without medical attention, your finger may not heal properly and may be deformed. expect this. place a stick on each side of the broken finger. now tape around the sticks and your finger. make sure it is tight. the object is to prevent pain by immobilizing the broken finger. I am not a doctor. this is first aid advice, only

uk this person is in the US. Most people don't have health insurance! to the oeiginal poster, I too broke my finger and I just went to the local drug store and bought a finger splint. It's only about 5 bucks for three sizes. If your finger has a compound fracture... the bone is sticking out you have to go to emergency if it is just broken but not all twisted then just splint it. No I am not a doctor I just have a lot of fist aid experience. The popsicle sticks will work but the store bought splintd are much more compfortable.
