  • Steroid creams are anti-inflammatory. Psoriasis is the skins defense against toxins in the blood -- if the blood is pushed away by the anti-inflammatory cream -- the skin will be less irritated... steroid creams do not go to the root of the problem -- unless you figure out how your diet must change, so that your blood is less toxic to your skin, the psoriasis will be chronic. Mood plays a factor -- depression, anger, stress, all make the immune system a little weaker, and so, the skin a little more reactive to the blood. If you have bad psoriasis, you may even feel a tingling sensation in your skin when your moods change. So managing mood also helps. Long term use of steroid creams weakens the skin, since skin is supposed to have blood near it all the time.
