In America do you need a gun license to buy a gun or do you just show them I.D and you can purchase it? and if you are a visitor from britain whos staying in america can you buy one even if you cant take it home?

Nope, sorry. You have to obtain a gun permit and you have to go through a three day waiting process where they do a background check. Unless you are buying black powder firearms that is.

In most states, in order to purchase a weapon, you submit the proper papers to show that you are a U.S. citizen and that you have never been convicted of a felony. There are other requirements. A visitor most likely will never be issued a license to purchase a weapon, especially if this person plans to leave the country. Why not just apply for a license in Britain?

Sadly you do need a licens to buy a fire arm but if you want to buy a boe and arrow you do not.you do have to have a permit to hunt with the boe and arrow.

You need to be an American Citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident in order to purchase a weapon,and you must not have a felony or be Mentally unstable. There is also up to 15 days of a waiting period for back gound checks
