You'd probably be best buying a light brown hair dye. The boxes of major brands (eg Loreal, Garnier) often have pictures on to show you the colour hair before it was dyed, and the colour of the hair after it was dyed. This should help you choose the shade of light brown you'll like most. As for how to actually dye your hair from dark to light brown, you need to follow the instructions that come with the hair dye!
