Is it acceptable to answer a sports question with "_________ sucks" if the question seeks an opinion? I really hate sports!

No. If I see a question about a topic that I don't care about, I leave it alone and don't post against it.

Rather than make an absolute statement like that, add the phrase, "in my opinion" or "I feel that" ... trying to say that it sucks as though it is an absolute fact, will just spark some sports fan to post a counter statement, start an argument, or even start something worse. So if the question is asking for an opinion, make sure your answer is in the form of an opinion and actually declares that it is just your opinion. Aside from that, YES ... if you think it sucks then make that your opinionated answer ... ... Although I do not actually hate sports, I dislike most of them.
