Help answer this question below.

I have a electric hot water heater that has stopped working changed the elements, cleaned the anode. There is power to both sides of the elements. pushed the reset button, how does the thermostat work, could it send power and the heater still not work?

    how does the thermostat work if you try bypassing it and put power dirrectly on the element should the element work.?

    the top one was coroded that is why we changed it changed the bottom one to just to be sure cleaned the anode at the same time.

    Maybe shoulda checked the thermostat first, it coulda bit the dust. Were the elements corroded through?, I know the anode is in there to protect the elements, BUT if the anode doesn't have a good ground, your elements are warm cookies on a plate!
