  • My mom used to make string beans with ham hocks in hers. I don't have her recipe though.
  • Just about any recipe can be modified to cook in the pressure cooker once you get the hang of it. To get you started here is one I use quite regularly. Lentil Soup # 1/2 large onion, chopped # 4 garlic clove, minced # 2 tablespoons olive oil # 2 carrot, chopped # 2 celery rib, chopped # 1 teaspoon ground cumin # 4 cups vegetable broth # 1 cup dry lentils, rinsed and picked # 2 bay leaf # 5 ounces fresh spinach (optional) # salt and pepper Sweat the onions and garlic in the olive oil until the onions are translucent in the pressure cooker itself. Add carrots celery and saute .Add the ground cumin and stir.Add vegetable broth, lentils, and bay leaves, close the cookerbring up to pressure and cook for 20 minutes. After the steam subsides open the cooker remove bay leaves add spinach and stir until it wilts. Season with salt and fresh ground pepper to taste. Bon appetite.
  • The best mistake I ever made, I dont remember, why I did this, we were camping, but it was amazing. We rubbed butter under the skin, and some on the outside, of a turkey breast, salt, pepper and sage, sprinkled on the skin, place in the crock-pot, with 1/2 a can of chicken broth, low 7-8 hours. I have also thrown this on the grill, to crisp up the skin, for about 10 minutes, afterwards, The best Turkey, we have ever had. No kidding, they were sucking on the bones, there was nothing left. LOL. ***I have many recipes, I collect cookbooks, if need a specific one, let me know. southernfood.about.com/library/crock/blcpidx.htm familycrockpotrecipes.com crockpot.cdkitchen.com www.tastycrockpotrecipes.com www.a-crock-cook.com http://www.bhg.com/bhg/files/marketing/slowcooker/suppers.html?ordersrc=google2crockpot_cgy&cobrandId=ww5&s_kwcid=crock%20pot%20recipes|986502862
