If you're not opposed to second hand clothes, try a local thrift or consignment store. I've found some wonderful and well made early-era clothes that way. Also, it wouldn't hurt to check out your local antique/vintage stores. Estate sales are also a good resource. Good luck. I completely sympathize with you- it's tricky to find clothes that you'd like to wear when they are not the trend of the moment.

You could be in luck, the 1950's trend is due to come back in very soon. In the UK its always been pretty popular, something to do with the fact that it's flattering on the typical British pear shaped figure (little waist, huge arse!) According to http://www.getlippy.com/getgorgeous/fashion/trendwatch2/ the '50's are most definetely back. For some more authentic vintage skirts have a look at: http://www.candysays.co.uk/skirts.htm http://www.shockadelic.com/links.html http://www.buttons-n-bows.biz/ specialise in reproduction clothing for special events, although not really suitable for everyday wear! and of course, good old ebay has quite a lot as well.

I am with Aimeanna. Do not worry about trends, unless you are a tredy person. Go out make your own style have fun be creative. I buy nothing new, and I always here Oh My God, where did you get that. The answer is always the Goodwill, Salvation army, or the red white and blue store. Itâ??s a blast and you will be amazed to what you will find. I found a pair of Dansko clogs that are well over a $100 in the store for $5.00 and the still had the tags on the bottom. (O:

you see them on eBay once in a while; if you want new ones though, you'll have to make them yourself
