That nasty bush that jumped out at me from the side of the road caused my last bicycle crash. And removing the bush would have made everything better. Or me not being eight or nine at the time. That would have helped, too.

I got a puncture, I could have prevented it by letting my brother ride the bike first.

I was riding bikes with my sister, I was about 12, she was 9. I looked back to see if she was keeping up with me, and I crashed into a parked car. I suppose I could have prevented it by looking where I was going.

A dog ran out in front of me and I put my front brakes on too hard and went over the handle bars.

Well, I only cycle about 4km each day now and there's not much that can lead to a crash on that route, but the last time I crashed I think it was because I drove over a patch of ice on the ground :/

I tried to follow my then boyfriend (on his bike) up a kerb onto a pavement. I could have prevented it by buying a halfways decent bike myself instead of giving him my savings so he could buy the jazzy mountain bike, which WAS capable of going up onto the kerb.

The only bicycle crash I ever had was the first time I tried to learn... I just tipped over. I never went on a bike again... I still don't know how to ride one.

I was hit by a car. I didn't get hurt (not really), but my bike did. By the time I got a new bike, I didn't care for riding anymore.

I was about 11 and I was coming home from the store with a bagful of stuff while eating a candy bar. I hit a speed bump while both hands were occupied. You can probably guess how that could have been prevented.

well, it was a few days ago and Iäm just saying: I shouldn't have bicycled on the ice...

I was in the middle of a race and I was dismounting for a sand pit, and my pants snagged on my seat. My momentum from the dismount was going to the left, and now because of the snag my feet weren't where they were supposed to be so I just tipped over. Luckily, because I was in a sand pit the fall wasn't bad at all. I'm not really sure how I could have prevented that. Edit: OK, I have a less embarrassing story now. I was riding on some cool singletrack, and I came across a section that was very steep and loose. There was also a slight curve (10º-15º) that was not banked on the trail and banked the wrong way off of it. My friends who I was riding with had all made it, but I went a little too fast and had to lock my back wheel to avoid going off the trail and onto an even steeper hill with lots of trees. When I locked my wheel I slid sideways and fell over. I wasn't hurt too bad and my mike was fine, but I did break my tail light. I probably could have prevented it by being better at high speed turns or by walking down.

i forgett wich was latter but these are the latest real "crashes" ive been in, once i tried to go over a curb or something and i hit the curb and somehow got 2 black eyes and once i was breaking and i used my front brake so iwent flying over my handlebars and got the wind knocked out of me but only for like 3 seconds

I borrowed a friends bicycle and they forgot to tell me that it had no brakes. I had to go down a very steep hill and had to throw myself off in the end because i would have hit a wall at the bottom at a very high speed.

i was holding a sweater over the front wheel and it got swallowed in between the tire and forks the bike flipped over and i literally flew 15 feet i could've put the sweater in my backpack
