12 gauge pump shotgun with inphasis on the pump, 45 caliber pistol and an itchy trigger finger. Everyone should own a shot gun. One pump and usually that scares burglers or other trespassers away. Racking a shotgun is universal in all languages for "what are you doing here". Quote comes directly from david Lee roth from when he held a burgler at shotgun point until police arrived to arrest him.
I installed a 200 pound Marine in October. It's working wonders;)
An ADT security system, key locks on windows, double-dead bolt and a door club on the back door. So, if you somehow get in, you won't easily get out. Not out the back and not with my stuff anyway! Oh, and motion sensitive floodlights out back.
The only guns I possess are the ones on my arms, but they are pretty formidable and I am also trained to use them. :P
My particular 'guard cats' might alert us by causing a slight breeze as they go flying past us to hide. ;)
Security cameras around the entire property inside and out, motion activated flood lights around exterior of entire property, very secure exterior doors and windows. Security system. A lab that would defend to its grave. And if that’s not enough I will soon have an S & W 9mm. I’m very paranoid when it comes to my safety and the safety of my family.
Smith and Wesson 351PD Revolver, Glock G 20 Pistol, Remington SP-10 Magnum Synthetic Shotgun, Colt .38 Super Pistol
I got a German Sheppard. Security and love.
Dead bolts and a 9 mm.
I have deadbolts on all exterior doors, security system, and three dogs to bark and warn me of an intruder. Oh... and there's something else.. A very well armed and well trained homeowner who has a BIG surprise in store for an intruder !
A new exterior door, a daughter who is a 4th degree black belt who has a large collection of swords and knows how to use them, a VERY territorial dog and a handgun.
Just standard locks. I can get into my house in about two minutes if I'm locked out without my keys. Fortunately where I live security isn't an issue as there is virtually no crime. It would be different if I lived in a larger town or city.
I have a really big doberman and a psychotic cat...does that count?
Three full-size black lab mixes, a rat-terrier/spitz mix. a 5'-1" woman who could probably take ANY man, and a 6'-9" man who looks like a football lineman. ;-)
A 400 lb man with only 2% body fat...you do the math!
a crazy neighbor that stares at my house all day. He keeps a good watch.
2 shotguns, 1 rifle, several cases of ammo, 2 foot long daggers, baseball bat, my fists, the police department around the corner. What else do I need?
Nothing ^^. I've broken into my own house on a few occasions without any problems when I had locked myself out. There's a lot to be concerned about here, but not criminality.
Edit: Well, ok, there's a lock on my front door, but the only purpose it really serves is to tell visitors that's there's no one home or that they aren't welcome right now..
ME! >:)
A lock, my fists and training, and, last but not least, my generally bad disposition towards anyone who wants to bother me these days.
I live in a high crime area.
Locks on doors and windows and 4 hamsters who can give a really nasty bite to anyone they don't like.
electronics, cameras and guns.
We have security cameras that show a complete view around the house. Good locks on the doors and windows.
I keep a morning star beside my bed. I thought that would be enough but after reading some responses.
its a gated community building this is the uk governments plan for new residental buildings cctv all over the place

And do you have a pet dog? And what nights do you like to go out?
;)
Hmmmm.... Good question. During the summer we don't even lock the door. Only when we are leaving the house... It's a common simple lock...
A 12 gague short barrel and a swell 10mm
I have a security alarm on the doors but not on the windows, the code is 1234 and the panel is just to the left of the front door as you walk in. Also, I have strong deadbolts, and in case I lock myself out, I keep a spare key in a fake rock under the rosemary bush on the north east corner of the house. I also keep a ladder propped up against the back of the house going to a second story window in case I need to get out in a fire. I keep that window unlocked.
Burglar alarm and a guard cat who throws a hissy fit at stranges:-)
I've smeared poop all over the window ledges and on the front door. It seems to work.
well i dont have much installed in my own home. but i noticed that you had one of those laser beamed security systems in yours. i was planning on breaking in the other night, but i'm gonna have to recap until i figure it all out.
I got mine online. It's a DYI system, but saves me hundreds every year. I use my PC to monitor it, and when the motion sensing cameras detect movement, they upload the photos to an remote site. It also sends the pic to my cell phone.
A shotgun near the bed also helps me sleep at night.

If it wasn't for IN-security, I'd have NO security at all!!!

I've removed all the doors & windows,... and can categorically state, that since doing so, haven't had a single BREAK-IN.
Bit cold in winter, tho there's usually plenty of company.

I leave my door open when I'm not hime (9-5 Mon-Fri) and I live at 123 Gullible Rd
three dogs lots of shotguns and my husband bought me a 22 semiautomatic for valentines day sweetest gift he has ever gotten me by the way and i have two children who are pretty much professional hunters and would'nt mind some target practice.
Great......... I must tell you that I had installed the Wireless Home Security System and spy cams.So you never know who is capturing you and an Electronic Secure Dog will definitely keep any one far from home.Isn't it great.
A Colt .45 Peacemaker
Several .44 Remingtons
various other guns and weapons
Me, Myself and I. lol
6'4" ex-army vet....
