Yes, a couple of years ago my husband was out of town and there was a knock at the door, I opened the door (stupid, I know) and this man attempted to push his way into my apartment. At that moment my dog went through my legs after this guy...it happened so instantaneously that I don't know how my dog responded so quickly. The guy quickly backed up and I managed to grab my dog around the waist as the guy took off down the stairs. The man then left in a car that was waiting in the parking lot. I have no idea what would have happened if my dog hadn't been there..but I bet it wouldn't have been good. Also, my horse was once turned out in the field with several other mares...i went out to get my horse and once I had gotten her halter on another horse litterally came charging at me. I was trying to quickly get out of the way but before I could react my horse placed her self between me and the other horse and took the strike that was intended for me. She then promptly spun and ran off the other mare..then came trotting back over to me as if to say 'ok, I was a good girl...where's my carrot?"

Nope. This black German Shepherd named Eric that we used to have helped me cheat big time playing hide and seek though. It was night time. I had to stand in our neighbor's front yard with my eyes closed and count to 100. I opened my eyes and saw no sign of them so I went and got Eric. I held him by his collar and he pulled me directly to where they were hiding in our front yard in about 20 seconds. :D

Well, not directly like that. But, I've been in some pretty low points in my life and my beagles have definitely help me make it through. Animals really seem to know sometimes when you need some love. :) This is my boy beagle, Toby. My little girl is named Layla.
