  • Since I don't exactly know what you're looking for (mod chips, or something else; also XBox or XBox 360) two sites to start at are XBox-Scene.com and the excellent Llamma.com. I used Llamma when my XBox crapped out last year and actually found a USB adapter cable that allowed me to rescue my saved games (just before the damn box died for good) to a flash card, because the memory card is just too damn small. Of course, there were some saves that weren't allowed to be transferred (KOTOR, Ninja Gaiden) so they're still stuck in that box. Don't know if you have a problem playing games with your system, but I discovered that my BIOS was screwed and I would need to resolder around the first 64(?)K to the second bank (or whatever, it's been a while), which was a backup on the first generation, or I would have to get a mod chip, and would still have to solder. I've never soldered anything and the XBox is still laying around waiting for me to get up the courage to ruin it forever. Luckily, my brother bought another one for himself just before this all happened, so gaming wasn't interrupted. Anyway, Llamma has many tutorials, a store for needed parts and forums. There are also sections for the 360 and PSP. Other pages are waiting for the PS3 and Revolution (I refuse to call it Wii). I swear they used to list a PS2 page, but that seems to be no longer. Finally, Google 'XBox Mods' and you will find many other sites, if these don't do it for you, but I doubt you won't find what you need at Llamma. You'll go to other sites only to flesh out information you found at Llamma. You should be able to diagnose any problem and, even if you don't have a problem, you will learn how to do mods by yourself, although you'll have to go somewhere else to learn how to solder, such as 'How to Solder' (http://www.AaronCake.net/electronics/solder.htm), 'How to Desolder' (http://www.Geocities.com/ResearchTriangle/Facility/9209/howto/desolder.html), , 'My Tips for Soldering' (http://www.fixup.net/tips/soldering/index.htm) and 'Motherboard Soldering' (http://www.xtremepccentral.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-3236.html).
