Take time to notice the rythym of the sensations...do they corelate with your pulse does it only happen when your hot or just when you are scared from seeing these creatures...think about if you are near insect environments ie hiking out in the yard, biking etc etc a simple brush of the hand calmly a cross the area can verify wether its a creepy crawly feeling or an actual creepy crawler...are you sure you don't have restless leg syndrome? If you have severe fear of insects seak some coaching on ways to work through this...hey maybe you just love mammals!!!

That's a phobia. Honestly, in all seriousness, I'd start with hypnotherapy. I have heard a LOT of success stories. Apparently it wears off after 5-10 years, but just go get another one done. Also accupuncture I heard does the trick, too. Expensive though, I'd say. I've never tried either but I swear, I have heard a lot of success stories. It's worth a shot, if it's as bad as you say it is.

It doesn't sound like a hallucination, but it sounds more like insectophobia to me. You'll need to learn how to relax and calm yourself the next time you see insects, and you can either try to teach yourself that, or seek some therapy. I'm agreeing with Annon- try some hypnotherapy, its proven to work .

It is common, MvL. I am a "biology geek", but I have "arachnophobia", which is a 'fear' of spiders. I know all the harmless ones and the dangerous ones, but, I still don't "like" any of them. I am better than I was as a kid. They don't bother me as much now that I know more about them. I don't have any really expert advice, except that most insects are very harmless...just annoying if they are in your house...(smile).
