  • Aren't they always kept in the UK? They are played for I thought but always went back to the UK cricket authority. Am I right?
  • Ashes, ashes, we all fall down? I have no idea what I'm talking about, but those cricket bats (it is a bat right?) look like they could pack a wallop.
  • Ashes in women's cricket?I've not heard of them?Only men's cricket have ashes...Or Am I unaware of the other one?
  • Australia are the current holders of the Ashes and England are the current holders of the women's version. It is interesting to note that the urn containing the Ashes (see picture) has never been a trophy, but was presented as a personal gift to the England captain, Ivo Bligh, during the next Test Series in Australia. Since 1999 the trophy has been a Waterford Crystal replica of the urn. The other picture shows the satirical advertisement that was placed in The Sporting Times and which led to England -v- Australia Test Series being called The Ashes.
