Yes. It sounds so machine like, or even machine-gun like! Ratched-ratched-rat-a-tat-tat!!! And vaguely sounds/rhymes with hatred, too. And ratted, as in grassing someone up, all sneaky, cruel, hard words to match this hatchet (there's another!) -faced 'nurse'. Executioner, more like? Love the creativity of your question.
