Should drivers be able to remove demerit points from their licenses by completing safe driving courses?

Yes! That's the only way I was able to wipe a TOTALLY bogus ticket off my license. Seriously, it's sick when the cops want to pull you over for backing out of your own driveway "too fast". I live on a SWAMP!

Yes and no. The system needs to be improved. I got a ticket. I took a class and the points were removed from my license. I have a spotless driving record to this day (my last ticket was in 1995). That is a "yes" situation. A guy with a consistently bad record finally kills somebody (charge was vehicular homicide). He takes a class or two and gets his license back. Is he a better driver after all this? Not in the least. Worse in fact. I worked for an insurance company and came across this lovely individual more than once. It was never his fault either. This is a "no" situation.
