  • It's been known to, yes.
  • There are days when I really miss the feeling of being warmed by the sun (it's totally different than just seeing that it's sunny outside, trust me), but I don't get seasonal depression or ever feel really blue during the wintertime. I get angry, though...I frequently curse Minnesota for being so &*^@%ing cold in the winter (and the end of fall and beginning of spring...ugh), lmao!
  • yes it can because of being stuck inside not wanting to be out in the cold.
  • I love winter but sometimes if I don't get enough sun or light, I used to get a bit depressed but I found I had to force myself to get out and about and I'm okay if I do that.
  • yep, like right now *sigh* .. i cant wait until sunshine, and driving around, and ice cream, and beaches :) .. soon
  • It's the happy time. It reminds you you are a living creature that has to fight to survive in a hostile world. Growing up in Canada, I learned to bend winter to my will. It's cold, but there's so much joy in playing in the snow, skiing, skating, hot chocolate and midnight winter wandering that you feel invigorated every day. You can eat loads of calories just to maintain your weight if you get out in the cold enough. Christmas feasting, canned preserves, RUM, keep you alive and you don't feel bad for a second about it. If you don't love the winter, you aren't going outside enough.
  • Nope, I love it, the colder, windier and especially snowier makes me feel more rugged and subconsciously a little more primal, I'm way too stimulated by the conditions to feel depressed, and worst case, I could just make a snowman friend and name him Frosty....or Bob. LOL.
  • Not Winter itself, but not seeing the sun for a long time does. And Winter with getting up for work and going home in the dark, it can be a fair while not seeing it.
  • Oh yeah! Glad I moved South.
  • NO. It's an escape from the heat and is often sunny and mild. The worst part of it is that it's over by March
  • Nah. I LOVE winter!! =D ~+~
  • Yes it does, but I think this year I am going to try to get out more and tough it out.
  • It can. If there are several weeks without sun, then I start to feel down.
  • It sure doesn't help...I find that since I have depression anyhow, it is just getting worse as I see less sun.
  • I live in Hell A and winter refreshes me.
  • Where I live all seasons are the same!
  • i actually prefer winter more. im not so keen on the heat so its great for me. its just when i get the cold and the snow and slush i hate. cold temps dont bother me and i think where i live my city is nicer in winter.
