It varies from state to state and area to area. Some states have sales tax added which makes it more expensive and there are other reasons that even the oil companies cannot tell us. Hmmmm... My input is in the area in Southern California,which has 7.75% sales tax.. so there is included 23 cents for sales tax... Cheapest gas is now about $3.14 per gallon, but varies as much as 35 cents higher throughout So. Cal. Normal "Major Brand stations" cheapest run about $3.19 per gallon.
