  • It is unlikely that life ever existed on Venus. Life as we know it requires water to exist as a liquid. However, the evidence that we have indicates that liquid water was probably not stable on Venus for very long if it ever was. The surface is just too hot.
  • Venus is a very hot planet. Life as we know it could not exist there. With that said, we find new species that defy out common beliefs on where life can exist. If life does or did exist on Venus, it would most likely be microscopic, and be able to survive without water, and in poisonous ( to us ) gases. I hope this helps.
  • We are not sure how soon after the formation of the Solar System Venus became so hot. I would love to think that perhaps Venus was a near twin of Earth with oceans land and life. At some stage everything turned nasty. One day we will go the same way. We must explore space and find a way to become a multi-planet species or we are doomed.
  • Until the late 40's early 50's it was actaully thought Venus may have been a tropical paradise home to possibly dinosaurs, but they got blown away by the big bang and sucked into a black hole.
  • I don't believe that life would ever be possible on Venus, especially as we know it. You see, the atmosphere of Venus is composed of poisonous gases and acid. Also, its surface is mainly inhabited by highly active volcanoes that erupt frequently. I also believe there is no oxygen on that planet. And to top it off, the temperature is way to hot for any lifeforms to survive.
  • I always thought that life, as we knew it, was on Venus. Then, through some event or series of events, Venus went into a runaway greenhouse, destroying everything and anything.
