  • The choice is yours. If you can let him go to his Father's and not worry all the time then by all means let him go. Give Dad the needed information and let him be the father. Then you will be able to rest during the child's absence.
  • i don't know how old the original post was, but your child has a 103 fever...you should take your child into the ped. have ped request blood cultures, urine tests and chest x-rays. why? this is to rule out any infection in the blood, urinary tract infection or upper respiratory infection. all are not good. so if the fever doesn't break within twenty-four hours, your baby needs to go to the doc, or emergency room. (i know because this just happened to my son and the advice i am giving you is the advice that doc gave me.) to break the fever, if your child is 24 pounds and over, you need to give 1tsp of children's tylenol, and 1tsp of children's motrin, alternatively until the fever the breaks. the problem i was having is that i was giving my son infant med and it wasn't working. now that he is on the children's med, it's working. example, 2pm give motrin, 6pm give tylenol, 10pm give motrin, 2am give tylenol...and whatever schedule your child is on for antibiotics. seems like a lot, but it isn't. both tylenol and motrin can be given this way because the ingredients are not identical. also, your child, while feverish shouldn't be around others. his immune system is compromised at this time and he is open to other germs and viruses. so be careful. your child should be at home until he no longer has a fever. i am not talking about a fever that is no longer there becuase you are medicating him, but a fever that is no longer there because he is better and getting well. your child is in a compromised state and shouldn't be at anyone else's home other than yours. and remember, no smoking.
