Why do you need Valentine's day as an excuess to show you S/O that you care and love them?

Same reason we seem to need Christmas to be nice to people... it's easy to take things like love and humanity for granted, and it's probably a good thing that we have a little reminder once a year.

You dont. Its just a consumerist holiday to sponge money off people for some made up reason. I wish valentines day would just stop, because for us singles, it just plain hurts :( its not nice to feel left out. I'd rather walk around with my fingers in my ears & my eyes shut going "LALALALALALALA" and block it out than have to put up with it & be reminded that everyone else has somebody to hug except me. So can we PLEASE shut up about valentines day. Its not very nice for those of us who are on our own. Thankyou :)

We don't celebrate Valentine's day. I think it's a retail holiday with no point.

Valentine is just a commercial day ....it's a day when we make the stores big money. We should show our love for our s/o everyday of the year and we shouldn't have to buy them material gifts to prove our love
