sry to hear that. whenever i do it i'm just trying to be polite, and usually i try to lead the answer somewhere if i want elaboration....
-
I'd go for the positive things.
-
I think its moronic - just give me points and I know you were thankful!
-
I like comments, but those thankyou comments are a waste of time, unless you know the person saying thankyou and it is more of a "Hello thankyou"
-
I find it to be incredibly polite. Something that has fallen to the wayside in everyday life, refreshing to find it here on a website !!!
-
I started doing it because "everybody else" was doing it. Now I feel badly if I don't add that 'little' thank you note. What's that saying? You can't please everybody so you need to please yourself? *SMILES*

If I can make a comment on an answer to a question I've had, I do. I usually always say Thanks or Thank you, too. They didn't HAVE to answer, you know. I appreciate that someone paid attention to my question and actually took the time to answer. Besides, it's called "being polite". GEEZE! (Oh, yeah... They don't TEACH that in school anymore, do they?)

I am sorry Retro, I am guilty as charged.
-
Because it's a gesture of politeness and shows that someone took the time to listen, pay attention and appreciate what knowledge you had to share. It's not that hard once you think about it.
-
I always do this - I do it out of politeness, I am thanking that person for taking the time to read and answer my question. Sorry if it bugs people but I will carry on doing it, its in my nature.
-
Just being polite.
-
because it lets you know where the points you just got came from..it is also considered polite.
