Good question! I think it is a bit either way! If you talk to one person, he says this, if your talk to another, he say's the other way. The World will look after itself either way. You talk to a Mormn and he will tell you man has been on Earth for 6000 years, yet if you ask others they will tell you man has been on Earth for 6 million years. Whom can really say either way?

How about jet planes and the vapor trail they leave, at about 30,000 feet? no one has questioned or related the vapor trails to global warming or the green house. why?

It was just announced today that scientist really doubt that man has any effect on the global warming trend and that anything we do to control it is futile. It is a natural aging of our system and our efforts are not unwarranted, but rather ineffective.

my answer is every source of energy around you if causing it from big to small. just turning off your tv could prevent a tiny little percentage to it which if everyone did it would probably be somet like 5% less pollution to the earth!

Officially releasing a 21-page report in Paris on the hows and the whats of global warming - though not telling the world what to do about it - the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change gave a bleak observation of what is happening now and an even more dire prediction for the future. (From Union of Concerned Scientists press release 2/2/07) Today, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released the most comprehensive review of climate science to date. The report makes clear that global warming is due primarily to human production of heat-trapping emissions and finds that continued warming will bring higher intensity storms, rising sea levels, and more intense precipitation. "The IPCC report reaffirms that our emissions are the primary cause of global warming," said Dr. Peter Frumhoff, chief scientist of UCS's climate campaign. "The good news is that by taking action today to dramatically reduce our emissions, we can avoid much of the warming projected in this report."

Haven't you seen today's news? The government can no longer tell us this is caused by nature. Three hundred and fifty years of industry has caused this mess and I hope we have the time to get out of it.

I know I am going to be hated for saying this but... Apart from the mainstream media only showing one side of this debate... there is a lot of evidence that shows that global warming is natural and NOT man-made. Scientists have recently discovered that during the past 400,000 years there has been 5 spikes in global temperature and CO2 concentrations. (please see the first image posted with this entry) And if you notice, the image shows that at this point we are near the peak of one of these global warming trends. And since there were no cars 300,000 years ago, this shows that there indeed are natural global warming trends. Next, did you know that the over-all total ammount of ice on antarctica is increasing??? yes, it is true...the reason some people can show you graphs and pictures of huge ammounts of ice gone from antarctica is because antarctica has a sort of winter and summer period just like the rest of the world. So durring the summer, more ice on the sea breaks off...but during the winter that ice is made up for with new frozen water. So the actual average of ice on antarctica from year to year is going Up!!! (please see second pic i posted...see all that yellowish collor all over? that is increasing ice!!!) The reason this is such a big issue is because in the past few decades, weather satalites and other devices have become more accurate and so in the past 100 years all we see is a warming trend. So politicans who want to capitalize on this jump up and scream that we are killing our earth and we are causing this. But already, there is scientific evidence showing it is natural. Many don't know about this because nearly every mainstream media news network doesn't mention it... Finaly, some others of you that have posted to this question say that it doesn't matter weather it is natural or man-made...we just need to do something about it. Did you ever stop to think that if it is natural and we mess with it we will seriously mess up our planets natural cycles??? Well, thats it. P.S. did you know that over 17,000 climatologists and scientists have signed a petition to the United states government stating that human-caused global warming isn't real and that it would only ruin our economy?

I would like to throw in some information that no-one has mentioned. The money that is proposed to be spent to combat global warming, This is trillions of dollars. An effort to alter the natural cycles of our planet is futile. This money should be forwarded to the real problems facing our planet. Man made pollutants from chemical and fossil fuels. The destruction of habitats for species such as "humans"! We can do nothing to alter a warming or cooling trend. We must get off of our addiction to destructive substances. Spend the money there, that is the real cause to tie your self to. Co2 is not a pollutant. It is a vital part of the biological processes that keep our planet alive. Co2 is NOT a pollutant !!!
