  • i just felt ashamed bout that just 13 minutes ago!
  • I did it. At the time I felt a bit ashamed or embarrased... but now that I am in my 30s I can confidently say - looking back - that when you are in your late teens or early 20s you are just starting figure out how life works and you will get in situations where you might need help with money. I don't feel ashamed at all anymore - looking back on it.
  • never had that feeling ...but then I have never asked them for money once I left home at 15 and now I'm 53
  • Yes, it was embarrasing. but, i did not ask unless i had a date or something very special. i was fortunate to have understanding parents. At age 15, i became a musician and earned my own money on the weekends, playing. fifty bucks a night was not bad money in the early 60s for a four job playing drums in a rock and roll band.
  • I feel a different kind of shame because when I was in need.........Dad did'nt come thru.
  • I am having to deal with that right now because I am planning on going to the movies this weekend.
  • No. My family is extremely giving. We all have rough times & we turn to each other when we need to. Come to think about it, my sister still owes me money from 3 years ago, lol
  • I don't ask for money now, since I really dont buy anything. Plus I am working now just saving, I dont want to burden them more. They want me to go to school and I dont have the money to pay for it right now so they do.
  • Nope. I never ask my parents for money. I wouldn't know what to spend it on either. And if I ever need money, there they are. I wouldn't feel ashamed.
  • Yes I have to ask and I'm not sure what to say. It's so embarrasing because I have kids and a husband but we had an unexpected event that wasn't in our budget.
