Help answer this question below.
When did they start calling redheads "gingers"?
And "nothing" to your question. :)
I first heard that term on south park. I've always thought red heads were gorgeous and I had no idea they were being discriminated against. Sounds stupid
Calling people "ginger".
Are you kidding!?! Isn't it obvious!?! If you don't understand how dangerous gingers can be, please watch the following educational video.
I LOVE ginger haired women!! The only thing wrong with it is there aren't enough of them where I live!!!
nothing is wrong with ginger hair. It's the strange British attitude of ridiculing and victimising anyone different which is hyped more by the media. i have red hair and gingers get the last laugh. they are picked on as children but as adults are persued because they are different
how long have you got? ROFL!!! (Joking)
My younger daughter has a color I would call that. I see nothing wrong with it, I like it a lot.
It turns me into a wild animal, all full of lust. Well, at least on women it does. Sorry, that is the worst thing I could think of. Peace.
Nothing.
Not a dang thing!
My wife is a red head!
I don't think there is anything wrong with it. It's just different, which is a GOOD thing!!
Nothing. And it's not true that we have a foul temper and I'll stomp anyone who says we do
I can't believe ginger discrimination is allowed- it's like racism and it's freakin everywhere!!!
My whole family has ginger hair, apart from me (mine is kind of strawberry blonde, but appears ginger on some days), and I feel sort of left out :S but I'm grateful I don't get stones thrown at me in the street like my sister does :0
In my opinion, not a damned thing. My grandmother had carroty-orange-red hair as a kid (she was half Scotch), but it went ginger as she grew older. Gramp must have liked ginger hair, and her. They had six children.
The English tend to think of ginger hair as indicating fiery temper and meanness of spirit, but that may be due to their well-known racist attitude toward the Scots and the Irish, many of whom have red or ginger hair.
Other than that, the only thing I can think of is that in CRS (Cockney Rhyming Slang) "ginger" is short for "ginger beer," and means "queer (homosexual)".
There is nothing wrong with being a redhead. I've actually been attracted to a guy who might be considered a ginger kid to certain people, but he has gorgeous hair and he is really sweet (or at least, he knows how to be).
Now that I think about it more, I think my first crush is actually a redhead, or was at the time anyway!
What? I don't know!
Nothing, I think it's beautiful.
nothing is wrong with ginger hair i have got ginger hair sometimes i get called horrible names then the other time everyone goes around saying how pretty i am with ginger hair and they would love my hair colour some people are jeolous as well people want to bully us cause they have not much else to do GINGER HAIR PEOPLE ROCK!!!!!!!!!!
Nothing, some shades of red hair are to die for.
Nothing at all,I love my ginger hair its quit beautiful
I have heard that it became a prejudice in England because of anti-Irish feeling-it got associated with "micks" and then became an independent prejudice on its own.
Brits seem to differeniate between "ginger" (pale lashes) and "reds" (dark lashes or what Americans would call auburn). Reds are very popular as the English think Scots are sexy. Properly red hair as opposed to ginger is in the Scottish genes. Irish ginger hair is orange.
BTW I am a ginger and I love it!
There is nothing worng with ginger people, i dyed my hair blonde and certain parts had orange highlights people who didn't know i wasn't naturally that colour gave me hell for having those ginger bits, its stupid and ridiculous the hassle i got was overwhelming and i'm shocked by what people will do and say about you when you have those honey blonde tones.
EVERYTHING
Not a thing in the universe wrong with ginger hair. The term ginger for red hair is more a british thing. It's relatively new to U.S. english. It is more commonly known here as redhead and carrot top. I've never met anyone who dislikes redheads.
Nothing wrong ith being a red head!
Gingers are hott.
It can cure gastric irritation and give pain relief!
I've got a grandmother and a kitten who both have ginger-coloured hair. They're so cute together. Ginger is just a shade of red, and Miss Rogers was not the first to be called that, by at least a century.
I never knew it was a put-down. Is it?
Nothing at all, my sister and brother both have reddish hair (more auburn) and its lovely..
Nuttin im ginger but say redhead LOL.
I luv my hair!!
Wow, some people are very thick. Why do they even call red haired people redheads or gingers? Red haired people have red hair, but not red heads. As for the term "gingers"? Ginger is a spice, not a hair color. There is nothing wrong with red haired people. I am one my self. They are just like brunettes, blondes, and black haired people. They just have a more rare hair color, and they shouldn't be made fun of for it.
Then again, people look for flaws in people. To all you red haired people out there, feel happy when someone makes fun of your hair color because it means that you are attractive and you don't have any flaws that they can make fun of so they decide to make fun of your hair color just because it's different.
I have reddish brown hair, and it's getting darker over the years. When I'm older, it'll probably be brown. So what? Does that mean that my temper will be better? Nope. If I have a bad temper, it is a personality defect, not something caused by my hair color.
i dont see anything wrong with ginger hair :)
I like ginger hair a lot, so there is nothing wrong with it.
Ginger Spice was the only thing that ever offended me about ginger hair....funny she dyed it blonde after a while...!?
nothing!!!...in fact I LOVE ginger hair...

That is surely why she was named? I have no idea why it is an insult now, except that folks with this colouring are unusual
