  • Go and visit them! (That's great for you, too!)
  • Send them candy. You should also send some friends that live in the same country some candy too! Yep...sounds like a good idea...right? Eh hem...you need my address? Haha:P
  • Send a postcard? :D Edit: Tickets to come visit you?
  • tickets to visit, mail something - a picture of the two of you [it says more than just an email at times] their favorite shirt of yours or blanket or something with a tie two the two of you if it's a romantic thing. or a stuffed animal - we sent one to my cousin... a photo album MONEY - especially for people in college lol...
  • Being with him/her when he/she needs you. Even if you were in another country. Caring, helping and trying to be with are good ideas.
  • don't invade/nuke them?
  • send them a t-shirt in their size and favorite color stating your city or country plus a picture of you outside the store where you got it from... with a kiss mark on the back.
  • Send a personal handwritten card telling them all the reasons why you think they're a great friend :)
  • tons of eacards, dailying messages to let them know that you care , texts ect ect.
  • Visit them, invite them to visit you (both for at least a week)... If you can afford it, buy the tickets either way. IM with them daily. Call them occasionally (expensive, but...) Email them what's happening with you. Send them a card or pictures of you in front of some of the buildings in your town, and/or just you acting like a goof-ball. Don't let a day go by without SOME type of communication.
  • Depends on how good a friend they are...my first reaction would be to visit them or invite them to visit you. If your friends but not that close send them a good old fashioned letter and maybe you'll end up being closer friends :)
  • purchase a hot air balloon & pay them a vist philleas fog style & transend the globe in 80 days:) if that fails, give them a call/write a letter/e-mail to arrange a visit, that ought to help a little or you could just unexpectingly call them, that's always a nice thing to hear a friends voice on the other line
  • For my best-friend I got a hold of one of his closest frinds that lives near him, and set up a dinner party. He had no clue that I was coming in town. I got about 8 of his closest friends together and made them all a dinner from one of my best family recipies. He couldn't stop smiling the whole time. Flowers or something delivered a little gift, "Just Because". Hand written letters with maybe real photos inside that they can frame or place in thier purse or an album. Find out a favorite place they like to go for drinks or a dinner. Make arrangements for the next time they go there to pay for a nice meal for them. When I was dating my husband and was still in the US, I wrote him a love letter then took construction paper and spent all night cutting out little hearts and words, So when he opened it it was like confetti. He still has that letter today. I was in a sappy mood that night :P Hope some of these ideas help.
  • I would buy them something special, and a nice card and send it to them.
  • take pictures of your city, the shopping center you go to, the places you eat out. make a collage of your life via pictures of your town
  • Make a friend scrapbook. Send your friend a hand written letter. Buy matching robes, send them one.
  • drop by for a cuppa :)
  • Send a care package. Just a small box - fill it with a hand written letter and several small gifts such as a small picture frame with your picture, a small keepsake, something you've made for them or something that might be hard to come by where they live. (My friend had never seen snow, so I sent her a small snow globe) I did this for a friend of mine in another country and she loved it :)
  • Write them snail mail!!! ( =
