G'day Someguy, Thank you for your question. You mean like this guy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Byrd I would want to be pretty certain that he had changed his beliefs and had apologised for his actions. Regards

Outraged to say the very least. I would have to seriously reconsider being in said political party.

No, I would not be outraged. It's just business as usual, in Washington. Only the best liar should be elected to office. If a politician can have a horribly sordid background and STILL be elected, then I'd say that is one excellent lying, ruthless, cheating, scumbag. They've proven that they really know how to manipulate people and get ahead! A fine politician, perfect for the job.

In all honesty I wouldn't be surprised at all. All polititions are currupt in some way. Look at the city of atlanta. 90% of the coruption has come from people who gained political power from being part of Martin luther kings movement. If they are willing to smear that greats mans name for political advancement whats to stop a KKk guy. Look at Marion Berry from DC. He admitted to using crack and the people elected him again.

Just another day in the 'wonderful' world of politics. It does no good to be outraged with anyone in politics. Too many people are willing to look past little mistakes and little things in a candidates background because they have their own agenda. Oh look! A woman! We've never had one of those as president, let's elect her. or..hey! A black guy..'bout time, we've never had one of those as president..let's elect him. Race/gender should not even be a consideration. Some people say they can't believe that "that dummy Bush was elected to (given) a second term, but, hey, so was that pot smoking (but he didn't inhale) horn dog (but he NEVER had sex with that woman) Bill Clinton, who, happens to be the husband of one of our esteemed candidates. Does anyone remember whose brainchild the current health care system is, you know, the health care that EVERYONE can afford? I love this country and most of it's people but I have no faith in it's government nor the people who are "chosen" to run it. I do not have a political party..I vote for who I think will do the most good for the country..whether it be a man or woman, rep., dem, or neither, black or white makes no difference to me. And to answer the question, finally, yes..I would be outraged. But it seems that, for the most part, the American people has lost it's voice. They cry out, but are not heard.
