:D a rave is usualy at a club but can be at a house, where there is alot of flashing lights and techno or "rave music" and usualy alot of xtc and other club drugs. The rave also has alot of dancing glow sticks whistles ect.

a party usually thrown in a warehouse or someother type of non commercial venue ( even though these days they can be in basements or clubs) where a dj will play anything from drum n bass music to happy hardcore and people go to do drugs and dance all night. They used to be a lot of fun, but thanks to all the speed that has come on to the scene and the cops there are some really bad vibes these days!!
