Problem with Panasonic 32 inch crt TV approx 6 years old screen hasa pinkish -infra red hue to all screen'is this a fatal fault?

several things pop up, dirty crt socket can do this or the tube itself is suspect - on a black screen do you see any lines angled across the screen? or do you see any flickering/flashing in the picture?

Thank you for the response everything appears normal except for the pink colouring , have maxed out setting to colour, brightnes and contrast mostly. do not see any other of the faults you describe.
