Help answer this question below.

I have a 1988 GMC 1500 High Sierra and it has been running extremely rough whenever I have to slow down then accelerate it seems to want to die. It seems to help to turn off and start again. check engine light comes on at times and stays on

    I HAVE THE SAME YEAR AND HAD THE SAME PROBLEM TRY TAPPING ON THE FUEL FILTER WHILE ITS RUNNING ROUGH AND IT MIGHT RUN FINE FOR A LIL BIT MAYBE BUT EITHER WAY REPLACE THE FUEL FILTER ITS TEN BUCKS DONT TAKE IT TO A SHOP JUST YET PLEASE RATE THIS ANSWER
