What do you think of siamese cats? Do you love them or hate them? Are they realy as cookey as you thought?

I love Siamese. We have had calicos and tabbies and siamese and siamese mix and I love the siamese mixes the best. Yes, they are PERSONALITY PLUS. They are kooky and entertaining and incredibly loving. They are super intelligent clowns. We have two now; one is a snowshoe (siamese mixed with american bi-color. it looks like a siamese but with white gloves!) and a "flame point" which is a siamese with some orange tabby, so he is white with orange tail and ears and feet (his "points"). Mine isin't any different from any other feline really. Cats in general are "Cooky" He is loving and protective and clean and just a cat really... The only difference between him and any other cat I have ever had is his tendency to be attracted to shiney metal or gemstone things which is an odd thing inherent in the breed. If I leave my jewelry out he will steal it and hide it. I do notice differences in him as oppose to the actual breed traits though in that he doesn't have a big voice and he is not vocal without a reason. He is really quiet actually unless I open a can.

my Siamese cat Mystie operates in a totally different realm than my other cats. she believes she is divine and "special". she is affectionate only when she is in the mood and you cannot "control" her like you can with my other cats.

It's like a different animal, not just cat, but something else. I've enjoyed being owned by a few of them. I love how vocal they can be. They can be quite the characters, though you can say that of many breeds. I think it's mostly that people don't own specific breeds often and don't remark about the personalities of their breed, most just have a domestic housecat. But many breeds have their quirks:-)

I've had several breeds of cats, but I've always had at least 1 siamese. I've had 4 over the years. They have very unique personalities. They have all been very vocal and affectionate. Very beautiful, regal cats. Sometimes they can be a little bit kooky or quirky...but then, all of my cats have been.
