What is a power slide in Mario Kart 64?

    While you're turning, hold [R]. This will send your Kart into a Powerslide.

    Basically, a Powerslide allows you to take corners without losing much speed.

    Simply: you need to master the art of the drift (powerslide) for all MarioKart games.

    Keep wiggling direction back and forth and get mini-turbos!

    You will see the flame change colour - wait and it will change again! then release for mini-turbo.

    Search mini-turbo in google and you will find all sorts of tips and VIDS to help you.

    can't win without it!

    It's when you hit the jump button just before going around a sharp corner. If you do this at the correct time you should power slide around the corner by pushing the joystick in the direction you need to turn.
