Help answer this question below.

I'm using Windows Explorer (XP) and each time I try to delete a folder I get the message it cannot be deleted because it's being used by another person or program. I'm the only user and all programs except Explorer are closed. What is causing this msg?

Try restarting your computer and then delete the folder. Some window process may be using it.

What's an example of a specific folder that you're trying to delete.

- One that I've created. I can only delete the folders after rebooting the computer (and before opening any programs).

It could be an error on your hard drive preventing you from deleting the folder. Try doing a scandisk on the drive that has the folder you want to delete and try deleting the folder after you re-boot. Also if you have files or sub-folders in the folder you are trying to delete, make sure all sub-folders are closed and all files are not being accessed by other programs (ie - graphic file opened by MS Paint, etc.,)
