I don't think those codes are universal. They are always listed in the troubleshooting section at the back of the motherboard's manual... So my answer would be "it depends", find your make and model of mobo and get the pdf manual from the manufacturer's website if you don't have the paper manual and check the tshooting section.. Most of the time though, I can tell you that it is either, cpu, memory or video card if it doesn't show you an error on the screen. So reseat all of those components and/or swap them out to test temporarily. Too bad you don't have one of those motherboards that just tells you what is wrong. I remember falling off my chair in surprise the first time one of my motherboards told me RAM wasn't detected in a heavily oriental-accented female voice.
