  • There is no timing belt on a 1998 Toyota Corolla (U.S. Model). There is a timing chain but it does not normally need maintenance for the life of the car.
  • mfg. suggests 80k miles. i have seen the last 150k.you are lucky toyota engineered adequate clearances in the engine, so if and when the belt breaks there will be no internal engine damage....
