I think that studies have shown over and over that humans have a natural attraction to pretty people. Beauty is not only defined by culture, but by nature. So, yes. I would agree that the beautiful girl will have a much easier journey in life than the ugly guy. i would even argue that she would have a better life than a good looking guy.

Yeah, I've always thought that. All things being equal (intelligence wise), I'd rather be a woman, and that's coming from a good looking guy....kidding about the good looking me part:)

If we are assuming that both are equally intelligent and independent then the more attractive will likely have more opportunities. If the beautiful girl banks on this and doesn't develop any skills beyond looking pretty her life may become dependent upon her face value. That puts her at the mercy of always having someone think she is attractive enough to support. That gets to be tricky as time goes by. Meanwhile the ugly girl, having no such face value gets busy developing her own skills to support herself and so may have an easier life in so far as she needn't worry about never aging and pleasing someone else for her 3 hots and a cot :)
