Cumulus clouds formed heavily and thickly into a huge towering black mass that became a terrifying July storm, with massive amounts of lightning, huge hail stones, and extremely high winds over 150 kilometers per hour ... it stripped leaves and small to mid sized branches from trees, ripped and uprooted many trees, smashed windows, dented cars, killed cattle in fields, blew a couple cars off a lakeside road and into the lake, destroyed the west side of hundreds of houses, left spots with over three feet of ice balls piled up, then suddenly dissipated and calmed right down to a warm July breeze !!! ... 1971, Sylvan Lake, in central Alberta, Canada, where I was camping with the 5th Alberta Boy Scout Jamboree.
