What is the basis of the world ending in 2012?

ok, first its impossible for water to run out, because its being evaporated, and precipitated continuously, go back to kidnergarten...second, the reason mayans calander ends at 12/12/2012 is not because they thought the world was going to end, but because they thought a new age was starting, a new era...the religious war between christianity and islamic dharma may or may not happen, but supposidley 1.2 billion are expected to die, i dont know about u, but none of this 2012 prediction bullshit is really beginning to piss me off

the same as it was in 1999 and 2000....come on now people talk plus it's not really the year 2008...it's just a made up time we started not long ago....far longer than time itself which is immeasurable

yeah water supply can totally run out for certain areas. Sure it has to go somewhere but not necessarily to the places where its needed the most. Look at a lot of places in Australia where they dams are currently under 10% full and in a lot of those places it just doesn't seem to rain at all compared to other parts.

Everyone has a theory on when the world is going to end, i just say lets got on and deal with the present and worry about the future later

Most people base it on the Mayan calendar. No one knows when the world will end. It's privileged information that has been shared with none.

It isn't ending on 12/12/2012...it's ending when the mayan calendar stopped according to many scientists and legends. that date is 12/21/2012.

the world isn't going to explode or dry up or catch on fire...
the planets are supposed to allign, and earth is going to go into a wobble causing all kinds of natural disasters.
a lot of people think that all electrical appliances will not work. and it's possible...

It's just superstition about the Mayan calendar. Also, christians believe Jesus is coming. It's when all the planets allign at the center, and strange/unusual natural disasters are supposedly going to happen on Earth. But no one honestly knows.

A program that predicts the future from the worldwide web's data predicted that a cataclysm will devastate the planet in the year 2012, the initial program is called WEB BOT. Check it out i believe its in the wiki. Another point is that of oracles before Christ that predicted his coming and other predictions that came true, although the smoke that acted as a hallucinogen that caused them to be stun in a state, where they claimed they were foretold key points of the future. Native American oracles predicted their devastation and defeat and so they were slaughtered by the US army.
