  • I try never to judge people by their looks but I know others do. My hubby looks like a biker, particularly when he wears his leather jacket in winter and some people seem a bit afraid at times....if only they knew he was a sweetie at heart...lol
  • I think most of us do, whether we realize it or not. There's a self-protection impulse built into us, and we think "safe" or "maybe not safe" when we see something about a person that could alarm us. I think that's okay. The important thing is that we be willing to revise an impression as we learn more.
  • I see people looking at my hubby like that. It makes me sad, because he is such a marshmallow. I think your realization will make you a much better person because now you know that in all walks of life, people judge, and appearances should be the last thing you look at. First, the heart!
  • I think it's human nature to do this, but it's wrong, of course. I try not to do it, but it does take some conscious effort for me. I learned my lesson many years ago when I was in a shop in England, walking downstairs, when I saw somebody you would usually pre-judge as being "dangerous" offer to carry an elderly lady's shopping bags up the stairs. I felt guilty about my initial reaction, and ever since, I've tried really hard not to base anything on how people look (or dress).
  • I do and I think everyone does to a degree. BUT, I am frequently wrong in my judgement so I try to keep an open mind. As I have grown older, and hopefully wiser, I try to withhold my judgement until I get to know the person a little better. Some of my best friends would scare the hell out of most people. BUT, they stand by your side when things get tuff and will walk in when everyone else walks out. Riding a motorcycle doesn't automatically make some guy a standup dude, but those type of people tend to be drawn toward that lifestyle.
  • I never look at the outside of anyone. I get a sense of the person and always go with that!
  • I'm sure I'm guilty of it, but in one glance couldn't possibly judge anything else but their fashion sense. People with the most accepted appearance can sometimes have zero personality. Honestly what wins me over is if people are happy and smile often.
  • There are roughly six-billion people in the world. By all means make snap judgments on some of them.
